Thank you so much for stopping by…
My name is Matt, and I’m a soon to be 40 year old husband and father of 2 who has realized that although there is time left on the clock, there’s still a lot I need to get around to doing. I don’t really feel old, just pressed for time. So the pursuit of the life less ordinary hasn’t hit panic mode just yet, but the sense of urgency has picked up the pace a bit. The world’s a big place, and I plan to see and experience as much of it as I can.
I am professionally trained as a dentist, and yes, you do actually need to floss more. The responsibilities of patient care and running a business has contributed greatly to my desire to get out there more. I’ve spent the past 6 years or so in search of as many big ocean animals as I can find, and that pursuit has landed me in the water with more species of sharks than I even knew existed, manta rays, dolphins, and all sorts of other ocean critters. There’s a lot of stories to tell about that, and I plan to get to them all.
So now I’m kind of changing gears. I realized that although swimming with sharks is way cool, it really wasn’t showing me all the world has to offer. So now my focus has become more broad, as I’ve decided that there is more to the world than sharks, and I intend to see it.
I’m also an avid photographer. Capturing images and sharing them is one of my favorite ways of expressing what creativity I have. This has led to an incurable gadget and gear addiction which is both fun and draining of the bank account.
This blog is my attempt to show you my vision of the world, and share tips and advice that
I’ve gained along this journey. My hope is that you will find some useful and entertaining info in these pages and that we can have some discussion about how freakin’ cool it is to travel the world!!!
